How to Watch Chinese TV from Overseas / Abroad (June, 2024)

There are lots of posts about watching Chinese broadcast TV channels from outside of China, but almost all of them are some combination of (1) terribly painful (2) sketchy / illegal pirate streams (3) expensive.

I’ve found one good alternative app which is a breeze to use, and charges $3 USD a month:

中文电视，中国电视，在线电视，中央电视台，央视，卫视

It delivers all the CCTV channels, including CCTV15 (music), as well as a bunch of regional broadcast channels.

I’m unclear how “official” and licensed this app is, but there are media reports that it is a legitimate company, and they claim that they are “the only high-definition Chinese TV software officially authorized by the China State Administration of Radio, Film and Television.”
